Richard E. Jordan IIMr. Jordan is an Elizabethtown College graduate with a degree in Business Administration/Management received in 1970. He began working part-time at LB Smith Ford Lincoln Inc. in 1963 and started full-time in 1971. As CEO, Mr. Jordan's primary responsibilities today of a $60 million dollar company now include strategic planning and decision making for the dealership, as well as growing the company's development interests and fortifying its Smith Land & Improvement Corporation real estate portfolio. A longtime community supporter and philanthropist, Mr. Jordan serves on the board of trustees of Messiah College and was a recent board member for the Holy Spirit Health System. He was vice-chair of Elizabethtown College's board of trustees, and a board member for the Harrisburg Area YMCA, Goodwill Industries, the former Dauphin Deposit Bank and Trust, and past president of the West Shore Country Club. Mr. Jordan's strong leadership and ability to attract talented team players distinguishes him as a role model for next-generation business professionals.

In December 2011, he was a panelist for the Central Penn Business Journal's Real Estate Symposium and shared "Fueling Retail Choice and Job Growth" to more than 500 Pennsylvania business leaders. In October 2011, Social Media at Work brought international attention to Harrisburg and showcased businesses that are leveraging social media for new targets and growth. Mr. Jordan was featured with area executives on a panel titled "From the C-level: Why Business Should Engage."

In April 2009, he was also featured in a six-member executive panel session titled "Women in High Gear: Achieving Influence and AffluenceSM." The program, created by Deeter Gallaher Group LLC for Business Women's Forum, presented high-level business information—the tacit knowledge and experiences of industry executives—to help women increase their influence and affluence and leverage their unique skills to a career advantage. Richard E. Jordan IIIMr. Jordan, the third generation of Jordan leadership, began working part time for LB Smith Ford, a subsidiary of Smith Land & Improvement Corporation, in 1988 in the shops at the dealership. After earning his bachelor's degree from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA in 1995, he took a full-time position with LB Smith Inc.'s heavy equipment division in Florida, beginning his career in parts and services and then advancing into sales. He sold heavy equipment in Florida untill 1999, then moved to the office in central Pennsylvania where he worked untill 2003.

Promoted to vice president in 2003, Rick III is now responsible for managing existing commercial properties, including retail, industrial, and office sites. He works directly with real estate investment partners, facilitates property transactions, and manages the entire leasing portfolio for retail and office property clients.

Demonstrating Smith Land's steadfast commitment to community, Rick III serves on the board of managers for the West Shore YMCA and on the advisory board of the Harrisburg Salvation Army.
